Punjab Information Minister Azma Bukhari strongly criticized the Aleema Khan incident, calling it both “regrettable and unfortunate.”
While addressing a press conference in Lahore, she said that the Punjab Chief Minister had also taken notice of the episode. She added that such acts have no place in politics and must not be repeated.
Azma Bukhari said she had already condemned the Aleema Khan incident in her tweet. She called it a shameful act that cannot be justified.
She further remarked that the real question is where such practices started. She recalled that in the past, shoes were thrown at political opponents, and instead of disapproval, those moments were celebrated.
According to her, the Aleema Khan episode is a reminder of how retribution works. She warned that revenge in politics is a dangerous thing and leads to an endless cycle of retaliation.
The minister reiterated that the incident with Aleema Khan was unacceptable. She said the government strongly disapproves of such behavior.
Bukhari stressed that politics should be about debate and service, not personal attacks. She concluded by saying that the Aleema Khan case must be condemned by all, regardless of political differences.
