The Babar Azam Fined for ICC Code of Conduct Breach After Sri Lanka ODI story has captured global cricket attention as fans search for updates on Pakistan’s clean sweep, the ICC penalty, and Babar Azam’s disciplinary record. The third ODI in Rawalpindi ended with Pakistan sealing a 3-0 series win over Sri Lanka through disciplined bowling and a steady chase.

Babar Azam received a fine worth 10 percent of his match fee for a Level 1 offence. ICC regulations allow penalties from an official reprimand to a deduction of up to 50 percent of a player’s match fee. The sanction also adds one demerit point to Babar’s record, his first in the last 24 months.

The incident occurred in the 21st over of Pakistan’s innings. Babar, who scored 34 off 52 balls, was dismissed by Jeffery Vandersay. While leaving the crease, he struck the stumps with his bat. The ICC confirmed the violation under Article 2.2, which deals with abuse of equipment or fixtures during international cricket.

On field umpires Alex Wharf and Rashid Riaz, along with third umpire Sharfuddoula Ibne Shahid and fourth umpire Faisal Afridi, reported the offence. Match referee Ali Naqvi proposed the penalty. Babar accepted the sanction and avoided a formal hearing.

Despite the minor controversy, Pakistan completed an emphatic six wicket win. The dominant 3 0 clean sweep lifted team morale and strengthened Pakistan’s ongoing international campaign.
