KATHMANDU: On Tuesday, two back-to-back earthquakes struck Nepal leaving 11 injured and several houses damaged, while triggering a landslide that resulted in highway blockage linking to the southern plains, as reported by the Nepal authorities.
Two earthquakes with magnitudes of 6.3 and 5.3 hit the Bajhang district of Nepal bordering India, has caused major roadblocks across the district, Confirmed by the Ministry of Interior official Rama Acharya. Additionally, it was reported that the center of the earthquake was in Talkot and Chainpur and each earthquake struck 30 minutes apart.
The jolts were so intense that they were felt across borders in Delhi, India. People rushed from their homes and offices but no damage or casualties were reported in Delhi.
Police official Bharat Bahadur has confirmed that 11 people comprising 7 women and 4 men were injured, and they are currently treated at the hospital. Further, he said that a woman was also missing after the second jolt of an earthquake which triggered another landslide in the region.
Naryan Panday, A top official of the district said that 1 person was injured by a falling object, and several homes collapsed in Chainpur town of the district.
