Pakistan’s T20 World Cup Participation to Be Decided by Government: Mohsin Naqvi
Lahore: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi on Saturday said that the final decision on Pakistan’s participation in the ICC T20 World Cup will be taken by the Government of Pakistan, not the cricket board.
Talking to the media in Lahore, Naqvi said the ICC holds less authority in this matter than the Pakistani government, stressing that the PCB is bound to follow the state’s decision regarding the mega event.
“We are waiting for the Prime Minister’s return to take a final call. The prime minister is currently abroad. Once the government gives its decision, we already have Plan A, B, and C ready,” he said.
The PCB chairman also raised concerns over what he termed unfair treatment of Bangladesh, stating that the country fully deserves to participate in the T20 World Cup.
“There is clear injustice being done to Bangladesh. This is a double standard. One country cannot dictate terms to others,” Naqvi said.
He added that further details could not be shared at this stage, saying, “When the time is right, I will share complete details.”
