Bangladesh Win Toss, Opt to Field as 4 Pakistan Players Make ODI Debut

Bangladesh won the toss and chose to field first in the opening One-Day International against Pakistan in Dhaka.

The first match of the three-match ODI series is being played at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium. Bangladesh captain Mehidy Hasan Miraz decided to bowl after winning the toss.

Pakistan captain Shaheen Shah Afridi said his team would also have preferred to bat first on this surface. According to him, a total between 270 and 280 runs could be competitive on the pitch.

Pakistan introduced four debutants in the playing XI for the match. Sahibzada Farhan, Muaz Sadaqat, Abdul Samad, and Shamil Hussain are playing their first ODI for Pakistan.

At the time of writing, Pakistan are batting first and have scored 52 runs for the loss of two wickets in 12.3 overs.

The match marks an important opportunity for the new players as Pakistan begins the ODI series with a fresh combination in the squad.
