Bashir Mirza Takes Charge as Azad Kashmir Director Public Relations

MUZAFFARABAD: Senior information officer Muhammad Bashir Mirza has assumed charge as Director Public Relations (DPR) Azad Jammu and Kashmir under a government notification.

He took charge from retiring DPR Raja Amjad Hussain Minhas during a formal ceremony held at the Directorate of Public Relations.

Mirza, the most senior officer in the department, has officially begun work as head of the institution. He brings 36 years of service in the Information Department, having served as information officer, assistant director, deputy director and director.

Addressing officers and staff after assuming charge, Mirza said the media landscape had changed rapidly and the department must adopt modern digital tools to stay relevant.

“We must strengthen the capacity of our officers and staff and move forward with modern media techniques,” he said.

He pledged to work for institutional improvement during his tenure and urged staff to actively highlight government activities with dedication and professionalism.

Mirza said efforts would be made to increase departmental resources and modernize operations under the guidance of the Information Minister and Secretary Information.

“I have spent most of my life in this department. Now that I have taken charge as its head, my goal is to leave it stronger and more modern,” he said.

He added that the department had a capable team of professionals and expressed confidence that collective efforts would help transform it into a modern institution.

Prior to his appointment, Mirza was serving as Director Social, Digital Media and Pictorial Publicity.
