LAHORE: Pakistan Peoples Party chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari Wednesday held the the PML-N responsible for making the census controversial, which, according to him, was conducted in nontransparent manner.
Talking to the media after visiting the residence of  Dilawar Butt, a PPP worker here
he  said that the federal government has not taken any step for addressing the reservations of the political parties on census, adding that people from FATA to Karachi have reservations over the census data.
“Our stance is the same as it was before the Council of Common Interests (CCI) meeting. We had asked for the rechecking of one percent blocks in the Senate from the provisional census,” added Bilawal.
“The rechecking has not been done yet.”
The PPP chairman said the reservations of the party were raised in the CCI meeting and till now the PPP was satisfied with the discussion held in the said meeting. “If they do not do it, we will again raise the issue after the elections.”
He added that the general elections scheduled for 2018 will not be delayed and will be held on time.
He said the PPP transferred power from one civil government to another civil elected government after completing its constitutional tenure.
To another question, he said that he respected Maulana  Fazalur Rehman, adding that Fazalur Rehman had his own political  party so he should look into his own party matters instead  of protecting others. He said that priority of the leadership was its workers and jialas who were still standing with the party, however,  the party leadership could not see anyone annoyed to his party.
Talking about PML-N chief, the PPP chairman said if one sees Nawaz’s historical past, he has been involved in every conspiracy against democracy.
About accountability process, he sia dthat the law should be the same for everyone and there should be “no difference in the cases of PPP, PTI and PML-N”. “Both of PPP’s former prime ministers have had their names on the Exit Control List (ECL) and have faced NAB cases.”
Bilawal also condemned the recent disappearance of the deputy secretary general of the Majlis-e-Wahdat-e-Muslimeen (MWM), and demanded of the Punjab government to produce him before the court as he was picked the by province’s police.
The PPP leader said such ‘kidnappings’ should not take place as no one knows the whereabouts of the missing party leader. “There should be rule of law in Punjab too.”
