As Kashmir marks Black Day, people across the globe stand united against India’s illegal occupation. President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif both expressed solidarity with the Kashmiri people. They pledged unwavering support until Kashmiris achieve their right to self-determination.
In his message, President Zardari emphasized Pakistan’s commitment. He stated that the nation would stand shoulder-to-shoulder with its Kashmiri brothers and sisters until the Kashmir dispute reaches a final resolution. He called on the international community to urge India to stop its human rights abuses in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK). Zardari condemned India’s ongoing atrocities and reaffirmed Pakistan’s moral, diplomatic, and political support for the Kashmiri cause.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif echoed this sentiment. He highlighted the immense suffering endured by the people of IIOJK over the past 77 years. Sharif noted that India has intensified its grip on IIOJK since August 5, 2019, when it revoked the region’s special status. “India’s nefarious designs aim to undermine the disputed status of IIOJK,” he said. He assured that Pakistan would continue to offer full support to Kashmiris in their struggle.
Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs, Engineer Amir Muqam, also reaffirmed Pakistan’s resolve. He stressed that India is committing severe human rights violations in IIOJK. Muqam pointed out that the entire Pakistani nation honors the courageous Kashmiris who persist in their struggle despite brutal Indian actions.
Today, Kashmiris around the world observe Black Day. They reject India’s illegal occupation of their homeland. This day marks the anniversary of October 27, 1947, when Indian troops invaded Jammu and Kashmir, violating the partition plan. In IIOJK, the day is being marked by a complete shutdown.
Protest marches, rallies, and seminars are taking place in Pakistan and globally. In Azad Kashmir, protests are organized in every district and tehsil headquarters. They aim to condemn the Indian Army’s invasion and the revocation of IIOJK’s special status by India’s BJP-led government.
In Muzaffarabad, the Kashmir Liberation Commission has planned a demonstration and rally. Other organizations, including Pasban-e-Hurriyat Jammu and Kashmir, have also arranged anti-India rallies. President of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Barrister Sultan Mahmood Chaudhry, and Prime Minister Chaudhry Anwarul Haq have called on Kashmiris worldwide to voice their protest against India.
