A rescued student from Cadet College Wana has shared his chilling experience of the Saturday night attack by India-sponsored Fitna Al-Khawarij, recalling how a massive explosion shattered the calm moments before a scheduled drill competition. The student said that he and his fellow cadets were on the parade ground when a loud blast shook the area.
“All of us were on the parade ground doing drills when the suicide blast occurred,” the cadet said, adding that their teachers quickly took charge and urged everyone to stay calm as chaos unfolded.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), cowardly terrorists backed by India attempted to breach the security perimeter of Cadet College Wana by ramming an explosive-laden vehicle into the main gate. The explosion caused the gate to collapse and damaged nearby infrastructure.
ISPR confirmed that two terrorists were killed instantly, while three others were cornered inside the college premises and later neutralized by security forces.
Recalling those tense moments, the cadet said their teachers reassured them that the Pakistan Army had reached the site. “The teachers instructed us to stay calm, assuring us that soldiers of the Pakistan Army had reached the scene,” he said.
He further stated that the cadets quickly realized who was behind the attack. “We knew the attack was carried out by the enemies of education,” the student said. “No matter what they do, they can’t keep us away from education.”
The cadet added that Pakistan Army soldiers moved them safely from the college to a secure location, ensuring that no student or teacher was harmed.
Operation Commander Colonel Muhammad Tahir confirmed that a suicide bomber detonated himself near the college gate while other militants tried to infiltrate the premises to take students hostage. “A suicide attacker blew himself up, and other militants tried to enter through the gate,” he said.
Colonel Tahir said the attackers were quickly surrounded and neutralized in a decisive operation between 10:00 and 10:30 pm, after all cadets, teachers, and staff had been safely evacuated.
“All the attackers were killed,” he confirmed, praising the swift and courageous response of Pakistan’s security forces that prevented a major tragedy at Cadet College Wana.
