The Chaman: Pak Army repel coordinated Afghan Taliban attacks, kill up to 20 fighters, after a series of cross-border assaults near Spin Boldak were met with a powerful and decisive counteroffensive by Pakistani forces. Security officials on Wednesday rejected Afghan Taliban claims circulating on social media that they had captured Pakistani weapons, calling the viral videos “fabricated and baseless.” The officials stressed that such propaganda was designed to distort the ground reality following the militants’ heavy battlefield losses.
According to security sources, Afghan Taliban fighters launched coordinated strikes near Spin Boldak, close to Chaman, prompting Pakistan’s armed forces to respond with full strength using mortar and tank fire. Multiple Taliban posts were destroyed, several tanks neutralized, and dozens of fighters killed or injured. Officials confirmed that following the Pakistan Army’s fierce retaliation, the Taliban reportedly requested a ceasefire to halt their mounting losses.
The Chaman: Pak Army repel coordinated Afghan Taliban attacks, kill up to 20 fighters also marks another episode in a growing pattern of cross-border provocations from Afghan territory. The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) confirmed that 15 to 20 attackers were eliminated while several others were wounded during the engagement. However, militants managed to destroy the Pak-Afghan Friendship Gate during their assault, exposing their intent to disrupt cross-border movement and trade.
Security officials highlighted that the attacks were launched from populated Afghan villages, showing complete disregard for civilian safety. A similar offensive in the Kurram sector was also successfully foiled, where Pakistani forces destroyed eight Taliban posts and six tanks, killing multiple militants and seizing U.S.-made weapons.
Officials reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering stance that the armed forces remain fully prepared to defend national sovereignty and territorial integrity against any external aggression. The strong and effective response from Pakistani troops has reinforced Islamabad’s resolve to counter all threats emerging from across the border while exposing the Taliban’s failed attempts at misinformation and psychological warfare.
