BEIJING: China’s top industry regulator has unveiled ambitious plans to accelerate research and development in wireless 6G technology and launch an “artificial intelligence plus” initiative aimed at leveraging AI to propel new industrialization.
Jin Zhuanglong, Minister of Industry and Information Technology, underscored China’s steadfast commitment to integrating information technology with industrialization. He emphasized the crucial role of bolstering information infrastructure, such as constructing 5G networks and enhancing computing capabilities, to empower various sectors with state-of-the-art technologies.
Efforts will be directed towards revitalizing traditional industries and facilitating their transition towards high-end, intelligent, and environmentally sustainable practices, as reported by China Daily.
Jin stressed the imperative of reinforcing key industries to uphold their global competitiveness, while simultaneously nurturing the growth of Chinese manufacturing brands with international sway.
Additionally, the plans entail establishing additional national manufacturing innovation centers, fostering major advanced manufacturing clusters, and establishing model zones for new industrialization, Jin elaborated.
