Pakistan received a reassuring pledge this week as China committed to aiding the South Asian nation in managing its foreign debt difficulties.
In a recent address reported by Bloomberg, Chinese Consul General Zhao Shiren underscored China’s dedication to supporting Pakistan.
Shiren emphasized the enduring partnership between China and Pakistan, noting that China has never applied pressure for repayment and recently extended a $2 billion loan to bolster Pakistan’s financial position.
These sentiments echo those of the Chinese Ambassador, who acknowledged Pakistan’s economic challenges and promised China’s “utmost support” in helping them overcome these obstacles.
Reaffirming China’s ongoing assistance to Pakistan, the ambassador assured that Beijing would offer every possible aid to help Pakistan tackle its debt issues and attain financial stability.
He highlighted China’s role in boosting Pakistan’s exports to Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and China, citing recent approvals for the import of red chili and beef from Pakistan by China. Additionally, Zhao mentioned China’s contribution of technology for hybrid rice production and corporate farming, urging Pakistan to address its trade deficit.
