China Reaffirms Strong Pakistan–China Relations, Hails Pakistani Army as Pillar of Stability

China has once again underlined the strength of Pakistan–China relations, calling the Pakistani Army a vital pillar of regional peace and a trusted guardian of the friendship between the two countries.

The statement came after a meeting on August 21 between Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi and Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir. The Chinese Foreign Ministry issued a note praising the Pakistani military’s role in cementing strategic ties.

“The Pakistani Army is a pillar of national stability and a strong guardian of Pakistan–China friendship and cooperation,” the statement declared. It added that Pakistan’s armed forces have consistently supported the execution of important decisions made by the leadership of both nations.

Wang Yi highlighted that Pakistan’s military has always played a decisive role in deepening Pakistan–China relations. He said the armed forces of Pakistan stand firm in backing projects and shared goals agreed upon by the two governments.

The Chinese foreign minister also stressed the strategic value of the partnership at a time of global uncertainty. “In the face of growing global challenges, advancing strong Pakistan–China relations benefits peace and stability in the region,” Wang Yi remarked. He reiterated that Pakistan holds a top spot in China’s neighbourhood diplomacy and that the bond has only grown stronger despite difficult times.

“China will continue to fully support Pakistan in safeguarding its regional integrity and national security,” he added, while welcoming Islamabad’s growing presence in international affairs.

For his part, Field Marshal Asim Munir described China as Pakistan’s “iron brother.” He said the two nations have shared each other’s joys and sorrows and that the strategic partnership is “as solid as a rock.” The army chief stressed that building stronger Pakistan–China ties is the collective stance of the entire Pakistani nation.

He also thanked Beijing for its valuable role in Pakistan’s economic and social growth. The COAS assured that Pakistan remains committed to counter-terrorism cooperation and to protecting Chinese citizens, projects, and institutions operating inside the country.

Munir pledged continued efforts to strengthen Pakistan–China relations, promising to deepen the friendship through mutual trust, cooperation, and development. He affirmed that both countries would move forward together, keeping their historic bond unshaken.
