In Islamabad, the federal government’s intra-court appeal against the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) amendment decision has been scheduled for a hearing in the Supreme Court.
The hearing, set for Tuesday, will be conducted by a five-member larger bench led by Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa. Justices Aminuddin, Jamal Khan, Athar Manullah, and Hasan Azhar Rizvi are also part of this bench.
The Supreme Court has issued notices to the trial lawyers regarding the federal government’s appeal.
It’s noteworthy that the former Chief Justice of Pakistan, Umar Atta Bandial, had declared the NAB amendments approved by Parliament null and void. Consequently, cases involving numerous politicians, including a former President and six former Prime Ministers, were once again referred to the accountability courts.
