CJP changes TV channel to avoid depression due to rumpus in parliament

ISLAMABAD: Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Asif Saeed Khosa has said that he has to change the TV channel to avoid depression due to treasury and opposition members’ protests during the speeches of the opposition leader and leader of house in the parliament.
Addressing a function on Wednesday, the chief justice said, “We take pride in our democracy, but when we watch parliament proceedings on TV channels, the leader of the house and opposition leader were not being allowed to speak. We have to change the channel to avoid depression”.
“When we change the channel to watch World Cup, then disappointing news comes,” he remarked. He said that the news about economy were also disappointing as people were saying that the economy was in ICU and came out of the ICU. He said that the good news were only coming from judiciary .
According to constitution, the provision of cheap and speedy justice was the top priority of the judiciary, he said. He added that the model courts have decided 5800 cases during 45 days. He said that he was happy that the model courts were providing speedy justice. He said that without concrete evidence, getting justice was impossible.
