Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Qazi Faez Isa issued a directive on Saturday, instructing Inspector General of Islamabad Police (IGP) Dr Akbar Nasir Khan to personally visit the residence of PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Khan and provide a detailed report on the reasons behind a recent police raid.
During the hearing, the CJP inquired about the motive behind the visit, and the IG explained that it was based on information about a suspect at the location.
Seeking clarification on the individual identity for whom the raid was conducted, the Chief Justice pressed further, prompting the IG to commit to obtaining details from Kohsar Police and providing the information.
The comments were made during a session with a three-member bench, addressing the Election Commission of Pakistan’s petition contesting the Peshawar High Court’s ruling to reinstate PTI’s ‘bat’ election symbol.
