ISLAMABAD: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur has safely returned to the KP CM House in Peshawar after a 7-hour absence amid a crackdown on Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders. His disappearance had raised concerns among PTI members, who were anxious about his whereabouts.
PTI MNA Shahid Khattak confirmed on his X account that Gandapur has returned safely. Sources have also indicated that Gandapur’s mobile phone is now active, and he has called for his security team. According to an ARY News correspondent, Gandapur had been in a meeting where mobile jammers were in use, making communication difficult. He was initially at a location without his security team but has since called for them and left that location.
His brother, Faisal Amin Gandapur, verified his safe arrival at the Chief Minister House. The Chief Minister had been attending an extended meeting in Islamabad prior to the incident.
Earlier, Islamabad police arrested PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan outside the National Assembly. This followed the arrest of PTI MNA Sher Afzal and PTI leader Shoaib Shaheen from the capital city.
