ISLAMABAD: In a strategic move to ensure uninterrupted gas supply for domestic users during the harsh winter months, the government has decided to close CNG stations across Pakistan for two months.
According to sources, Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) has advised that all CNG stations shut down from December 1, 2024, to January 31, 2025.
This decision comes in anticipation of severe winter conditions and aims to prioritize gas availability for households.
During this period, industries that rely on natural gas for electricity generation will also face supply cuts. As a result, gas supply to power-generating units and captive power stations across all four provinces will be halted, with industries expected to depend on electricity from power companies.
