During his stay in Beijing, the COAS held high-level meetings with senior Chinese political and military leaders. He met Vice President Han Zheng and Foreign Minister Wang Yi. Discussions centred on regional security, global developments, and cooperation under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
Both nations expressed satisfaction with the progress of their ties. They reaffirmed their commitment to sovereign equality, multilateral cooperation, and lasting regional peace. The Chinese leadership lauded the Pakistan Armed Forces as a pillar of strength and a vital force for South Asian stability.
On the military front, Field Marshal Munir met General Zhang Youxia, Vice Chairman of the Central Military Commission (CMC). He also engaged with top People’s Liberation Army (PLA) officers, including General Chen Hui and Lieutenant General Cai Zhai Jun. Talks focused on defence upgrades, counterterrorism operations, joint training, and stronger institutional links. Both sides stressed improving operational coordination to address hybrid and transnational threats.
Chinese military officials voiced complete confidence in the strength of their defence alliance. They recognised Pakistan’s crucial role in maintaining peace and stability in the region. Field Marshal Munir thanked China for its consistent support and vowed to advance military cooperation in all areas.
