Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir met Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi in Cairo, reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to deepen strategic, economic, and security relations with Egypt. The meeting, held as part of the army chief’s official visit, highlighted the growing cooperation between the two brotherly nations.
During the discussion, Field Marshal Asim Munir commended President el-Sisi for his leadership in promoting peace and stability in the region, while the Egyptian leader appreciated Pakistan’s proactive diplomatic and security role in supporting global peace efforts, particularly within the Muslim Ummah.
Both sides emphasised the need to further enhance bilateral coordination, focusing on people-to-people exchanges, technological collaboration, defence partnerships, and socio-economic engagement. The leaders also reaffirmed their shared commitment to mutual strategic interests, reflecting the historic friendship between Pakistan and Egypt.
