COAS Gen Asim Munir spent Eid ul Fitr with Pakistan Army officers and troops stationed along the western border. On Monday, he visited Wana in South Waziristan and Chehkan in Dera Ismail Khan. The military’s media wing, ISPR, confirmed the visit in an official statement.
COAS Gen Asim Munir offered Eid prayers and prayed for Pakistan’s peace, stability, and prosperity. During his interaction with the troops, he conveyed warm Eid greetings. He appreciated their unwavering commitment to the defense of the nation.
“You safeguard our homeland with resilience and dedication. Your sacrifices reflect your deep love for Pakistan,” COAS Gen Asim Munir said while addressing the troops. He commended their courage and praised their contributions to national security.
The army chief also acknowledged the efforts of the armed forces and law enforcement agencies. He highlighted the bravery of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s people in combating terrorism. Their sacrifices and determination, he noted, have been instrumental in maintaining stability in the region.
Recognizing the contributions of the formations, COAS Gen Asim Munir paid tribute to the martyrs. He emphasized that their sacrifices and the commitment of the forces have strengthened peace efforts across the country.
Upon his arrival, the Chief of Army Staff received a warm welcome from the Corps Commander Peshawar.
