COAS Lauds Soldiers and Civil Administration for Tireless Flood Relief Efforts

Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, NI (M), HJ, Chief of Army Staff, visited flood-affected areas of Punjab including Sialkot Sector, Shakargarh, Narowal, and Kartarpur. The purpose of his visit was to review the flood situation and oversee the ongoing rescue and relief operations. During the visit, the COAS was given a comprehensive briefing on the current circumstances as well as the preparations for the next spell of monsoon rains.

The Army Chief praised the coordinated and tireless efforts of both the soldiers and the civil administration in saving lives and providing relief to the affected communities. He stated that such joint efforts by civil and military institutions are a source of hope for the flood victims.

While in the area, COAS Asim Munir met with members of the Sikh community who were also affected by the floods. He assured them that all religious sites damaged during the disaster, including the revered Gurdwara Darbar Sahib Kartarpur, would be restored to their original condition on a priority basis. He reiterated that protecting minorities and their places of worship is the responsibility of the state and its institutions, and Pakistan will never fall short in fulfilling this duty. The Sikh community warmly welcomed the Army Chief and expressed gratitude for the assistance provided by the civil administration and the military during this difficult time.

The COAS also conducted an aerial reconnaissance of Darbar Sahib Kartarpur to assess the damage. Later, in his interaction with representatives of the civil administration, he appreciated their timely and active response, which helped minimize the loss of lives and property.

Addressing the troops, Field Marshal Asim Munir lauded their high morale, operational readiness, and commitment to serving the nation. He commended their dedication in carrying out rescue and relief operations under challenging conditions.

On his arrival, the Army Chief was received by the Corps Commander Gujranwala.
