ISLAMABAD: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Gen. Asim Munir reaffirmed his unwavering commitment to safeguarding Pakistan against any attempts to sow chaos, declaring that no force can undermine the nation.
Speaking at the Ulema and Mashaikh Conference, Gen. Munir emphasized that the gravest sin in Islam is “fasad-fil-arz” (spreading mischief on earth) and stressed Pakistan’s dedication to eradicating this threat. He declared, “If anyone tries to create chaos in Pakistan, we will stand against them.”
The Army Chief highlighted Pakistan’s long-standing hospitality towards millions of Afghan refugees and urged them not to be swayed by extremist factions. He also acknowledged the immense sacrifices made by the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in the war against terrorism, stating, “Our Pashtun brothers and the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have borne great losses, and we stand with them.”
Gen. Munir rejected extremism, emphasized the importance of peaceful protests, and urged religious scholars to promote unity and moderation. He also reiterated that “Kashmir remains an unfinished agenda of the subcontinent’s partition” and expressed concern over the situation in Palestine, urging Pakistanis to learn from their struggles and protect their nation.
