RAWALPINDI: At least three terrorists were killed in intelligence based operation conducted by the security forces in Tirah, Khyber District on the night of September 25th to 26th, a military statement claimed on Tuesday.
The operation was initiated following reports of terrorist presence in the area, as stated in the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) release.
The operation was conducted on the night between September 25 and 26 after reports were received about the presence of terrorists, read the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) statement.
“During conduct of operation, intense fire exchange took place between own troops and terrorists which resulted in killing of three terrorists including terrorist Commander Kifayat,” the statement said.
The statement said that the Kifayat wasy involved in ‘multiple terrorist activities’ against both law enforcement agencies’as well as killing of innocent civilians.
The security forces did not report any loss of life on their side.
The army performed a clean up operation in the area to find and eliminate any other terrorists in the area.
