A crucial consultative meeting was held here on Monday in Peshawar under the chairmanship of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, attended by prominent religious scholars. The meeting aimed to devise a comprehensive national policy to tackle the pressing issues of terrorism, sectarianism, ethnic bias, and other provincial challenges.
In his address, the Chief Minister highlighted that the session was convened under the directives of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan to rectify the damages caused by flawed policies of the past. He pointed out that many of the current issues facing the country, including the rise of terrorism, are a result of these missteps.
“The country has suffered due to ineffective and poorly implemented policies in the past. However, we are committed to finding sustainable solutions by engaging all stakeholders, particularly religious scholars, who can play a pivotal role in guiding the nation,” said Gandapur.
The Chief Minister emphasized the need to regain public trust to combat terrorism effectively. He reiterated that peace and harmony could only be achieved through collective efforts and community involvement.
During the meeting, the attending scholars presented their recommendations and expressed their commitment to supporting the government in promoting national unity, enforcing the rule of law, and ensuring peace across the province.
The participants agreed that a collaborative approach involving government institutions, religious leaders, and the public is essential to address the root causes of terrorism and sectarianism. The meeting concluded with a mutual pledge to work towards a peaceful and prosperous Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, free from violence and extremism.
This consultative effort reflects a renewed focus on bridging divides and fostering unity among diverse segments of society, signaling hope for long-term stability in the region.
