Coronavirus infected 1526 people in Pakistan as govt tighten restrictions

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan on Sunday has reported 13 deaths from novel coronavirus while the total number of cases have surged to 1526 as 481 patients have been tested positive for the epidemic in Sindh, 138 in Balochistan, 558 in Punjab, 188 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 116 in Gilgit-Baltistan, 43 in Islamabad and two in Azad Kashmir.
According to details, total number of patients who have recovered is 28.
China’s special plane carrying relief assistance to fight coronavirus has arrived in Islamabad. Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi received the relief assistance at Islamabad International Airport and expressed gratitude to government and people of China, on behalf of the people and government of Pakistan.
The special flight has also brought eight Chinese doctors who are specialists in coronavirus.
These Chinese doctors will remain in Pakistan for two weeks and will advise our health care specialists in the light of their experience and success in battling Covid-19 in China.
China’s assistance to Pakistan so far includes 12,000 test kits, 300,000 masks, 10 thousand protective suits and 4 million dollars to build an isolation hospital. Xinjiang government has also provided 50 thousand masks each to the Federal Capital as well as to Sindh government.
According to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Army troops are assisting civil administration across the country.
The Federal and Provincial Administration is hard at work protecting the public from the coronavirus and law enforcement agencies including Pak Army are monitoring various entry and exit points within the country.
Balochistan government has announced to reduce the sentences of prisoners by four months in a wake of preventing coronavirus outbreak.
Prisoners jailed for terrorism and heinous crimes will not get benefit from this move.
