PESHWAR: In a ceremony organized by the FATA Disabled Welfare Organization, more than fifty individuals, including ten women impacted by landmines, were honored for their resilience and strength in Peshawar.
Under the patronage of the FATA Disabled Welfare Organization, the event featured Corps Commander Peshawar Lt Gen Hasan Azhar Hayat as the chief guest.
Actively involved in the rehabilitation and welfare of victims, the FATA Disabled Welfare Organization, in collaboration with the Pakistan Army, has provided support to 1043 individuals. Chairman of the FATA Disabled Welfare Organization Irfanullah Jan expressed gratitude for the unwavering commitment of the Pakistan Army to victim rehabilitation.
During the ceremony, Chief Guest Lt Gen Hasan Azhar Hayat distributed financial aid, including cash and laptops, showcasing the collaborative efforts of the military and civil society in addressing the needs of those affected.
This initiative, supported by the Pakistan Army, also involves financial assistance and guidance for the procurement of bionic arms and legs for the victims.
Chairman Irfanullah Jan commended the comprehensive efforts made by the Pakistan Army, emphasizing their pivotal role in the successful rehabilitation of landmine victims. He stated, “I am grateful to the Pakistan Army that, whenever we needed it, they responded and supported us.”
The event was attended by the families of the victims, Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and a significant number of military and civil officials. Dr. Anila Durrani, Secretary Special Education Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, praised the joint efforts of the government and the Pakistan Army, stating, “Today’s event is proof that the government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and the Pakistan Army are diligently working for the welfare of victims of terrorism and mines in the tribal districts.”
Expressing gratitude for the support received, Nazimullah from South Waziristan, an affected individual, stated, “I am thankful to the Pakistan Army and FATA Disabled Welfare Organization for their cooperation with us.” Natasha Suman, Legal Advisor to the FATA Disability Welfare Organization, emphasized that the assistance provided by the Pakistan Army not only benefits the affected individuals but also extends support to their families.
