BUNER: In a collaborative effort between the Pakistan Army and Frontier Corps North, the two-day Elum Winter Festival concluded successfully in Buner, district of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The festival, commemorating a decade of peace and prosperity in regions once plagued by terrorism, highlighted the transformation of Swat and Malakand into thriving hubs of happiness and a burgeoning tourism industry.
A significant milestone for Buner, the winter festival attracted 110 bikes and 60 jeeps from various parts of Pakistan, participating in an engaging Jeep and Bike Rally. The rally, originating from Punjab and journeying through Mardan, received a warm reception upon reaching Buner.
The closing ceremony was graced by Corps Commander Peshawar as the chief guest. The festival featured captivating performances, including paragliding demonstrations that earned applause from the enthusiastic crowd. The cultural vibrancy was enhanced by the Frontier Corps’ Martial Dance Party, showcasing the captivating Khatak Dance.
During the concluding moments, Corps Commander Peshawar distributed certificates, shields, and trophies among the participants, who expressed gratitude to the Pakistan Army for organizing the event. A female tourist marveled at the newfound peace in the area, attributing it to the efforts of the Pakistan Army. Local Sikh citizens enthusiastically joined the celebration, shedding tears of joy at the remarkable event in Buner.
