Court Extends Physical Remand of PTI Activist Falak Javed in Anti-State Tweet and Offensive Content Case

Lahore: A local court has extended the physical remand of PTI social media activist Falak Javed, sister of Sanam Javed, by four more days in a case related to an anti-state tweet and the uploading of an inappropriate image of a provincial minister from the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N).

Sources confirmed that the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) presented Falak Javed before Judicial Magistrate Naeem Wattoo after her initial five-day physical remand expired. During the hearing, NCCIA officials requested further remand, stating that additional interrogation was required to complete the investigation.

After reviewing the request, the court approved a four-day extension in physical remand and instructed the NCCIA to submit a detailed investigation report at the next hearing.

Falak Javed, associated with PTI’s digital campaigns, is accused of spreading anti-state content and targeting government officials through objectionable material on social media. The decision to prolong her remand reflects the authorities’ growing focus on tackling cyber-related offenses and online propaganda that threaten public order and political stability.
