KARACHI: The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) conducted a raid in Karachi on Saturday, claiming the arrest of a high-profile terrorist linked to the attack on Mufti Taqi Usmani.
CTD officials, in collaboration with other law enforcement forces, carried out the operation in Soldier Bazar area, apprehending Syed Mehdi, a notorious terrorist associated with a hostile agency.
During the interrogation, the arrested individual revealed that he provided target details to his accomplices, Raza Jafri and Abid Raza, both actively engaged in orchestrating and executing lethal attacks.
A spokesperson disclosed that the arrested individual was found harboring arms and ammunition sourced from hostile agencies within his residence. The suspect allegedly employed hand grenades and firearms in targeted attacks, according to the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD). Additionally, the arrested individual faces accusations of involvement in the illegal sale of weapons.
The spokesperson further revealed that the associates of the accused, Raza Jaafari and Abid Raza, were allegedly implicated in an attack on Mufti Taqi Usmani and several other notable figures affiliated with opposing sects.
