CTD Punjab Operations Lead to Arrest of 13 Terrorists in Major Security Crackdown

The CTD Punjab operations have resulted in the arrest of 13 terrorists during a major security crackdown carried out across multiple cities in the province amid rising security concerns.

According to a spokesperson, CTD Punjab operations were conducted in 58 intelligence-based raids across Lahore, Sahiwal, Multan, Jhelum, Mandi Bahauddin, Jhang, Chiniot, and Mianwali. The action was taken following intelligence reports about possible terrorist activity.

In Lahore, CTD teams arrested a high-risk suspect identified as Mukhtar, who is reportedly linked to a banned group. Officials said the suspect was part of a network planning attacks on law enforcement installations.

During the CTD Punjab operations, authorities recovered a large quantity of explosive material, including four improvised explosive devices, detonators, safety fuse wire, prohibited literature, stickers, and cash. The seized material was intended for planned attacks, officials added.

A total of 13 suspects were arrested in connection with the network. The accused have been identified as Mukhtar Ahmed, Younus, Feroz Khan, Wali, Awais, Farman, Momin, Adnan, Raja Faisal, Raza Khan, Ghulam Shabbir, Rao Sajid, and Mukhtar Shah.

Officials further said that the CTD Punjab operations were part of a broader counter-terrorism strategy to prevent attacks and dismantle militant networks across the province.

In addition to these raids, CTD carried out 1,487 combing operations during the week, during which 168 suspects were detained for questioning. Authorities also interrogated more than 53,000 individuals as part of ongoing security checks.

The CTD spokesperson said the department remains committed to maintaining peace and security in Punjab and will continue intelligence-based actions against any threat to public safety.

Security officials added that CTD Punjab operations will continue with full force to eliminate terrorism threats and ensure stability across the province.
