MASTUNG: Death toll from the Masturng suicide bombing at Eid Milad-ul-Nabi main procession soared to 45.
Police said that more than 70 others were injured in the blast in which condition of some of people said to be critical.
Police confirmed the Mastung suicide blast and said that suicide bomber blew himself up near Medina Masjid where a large number of people were gathered to mark Eid Miladun Nabi. Mastung’s Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Nawaz Gashkori, who was at the site for inspecting security arrangements was among the deceased.
The rescue teams and police contingents have been deployed to the site to rescue to injured people.
Assistant Commissioner of Mastung Atta Ul Munim said that state of emergency has been imposed in all hospitals in order to provide better treatment to the blast victims.
Provincial Caretaker Information Minister Jan Achakzai said those critically injured in the blast are being shifted to Quetta with emergency enforced across the city’s hospitals.
Sindh interim Chief Minister Sindh, Justice (Retd) Maqbool Baqir, has condemned the deadly attack saying those responsible for shedding the blood of innocent people in Mastung are nothing less than enemies of humanity itself.
Justice Baqir emphasized that such reprehensible acts should be condemned with the utmost severity, as they aim to create chaos and instability in Pakistan.
