LAHORE: Dense fog again blanketed plain areas of Punjab, Sindh and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on night between Wednesday and Thursday, paralysing routine life and disrupting road traffic.
The thick fog severely impacted road traffic in various cities, leading to the closure of Motorway M1 from Islamabad to Peshawar, Motorway M2 from Islamabad to Balkasar, and Motorway M5 from Rahim Yar Khan to Rohri, according to a spokesperson from the Motorway. Drivers are advised to use Grand Trunk (GT) Road for travel and exercise caution by driving slowly with fog lights on.
Motorway police have appealed to the public to stay home and avoid unnecessary travel. Low visibility caused by dense fog has also led to traffic disruptions on the National Highway in several areas of the province.
