DG ISPR Press Conference

Inter-Services Public Relations Director General Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry said Pakistan is fully prepared for future challenges while speaking during the DG ISPR Press Conference held on the first anniversary of Marka-e-Haq.

Addressing the media alongside Rear Admiral Shifaat Ali Khan and Air Vice Marshal Tariq Ghazi, the military spokesperson said Pakistan had not underestimated India at any stage during the 2025 conflict. He added that Pakistan’s armed forces responded with confidence and maturity during the tense military standoff.

The DG ISPR Press Conference focused on the strategic consequences of the 19-day conflict between Pakistan and India that began after the Pahalgam attack in April 2025. Lt Gen Chaudhry said the world now better understands Pakistan’s position regarding terrorism and regional security.

He claimed India failed to provide evidence linking Pakistan to the Pahalgam incident. He also said the international community increasingly recognised Pakistan as a victim of terrorism rather than a supporter of it.

Speaking about the military conflict, Lt Gen Chaudhry said Pakistan successfully defended itself during the 87-hour escalation. According to him, Pakistan’s forces showed strength across land, air, sea and cyber domains.

The military spokesperson said one of the biggest lessons from the conflict was the changing nature of modern warfare. He explained that wars are no longer limited to borders and now involve information, cyber operations and multi-domain coordination.

During the DG ISPR Press Conference, Lt Gen Chaudhry also stressed that there is no space for war between two nuclear powers. He warned that any attempt to trigger a full-scale conflict in the region would be dangerous.

He further said Pakistan’s armed forces and the public remain united. Rejecting speculation about differences between the military and citizens, he said the relationship between the people and the armed forces remains strong.

Talking about regional diplomacy, Lt Gen Chaudhry said Pakistan shares deep strategic ties with Saudi Arabia. He added that any threat to Saudi Arabia would also be considered a concern for Pakistan.

On internal political matters, the military spokesperson said political parties should resolve their issues through dialogue. He clarified that the armed forces are not involved in political affairs and do not support any political ideology or group.

The DG ISPR Press Conference also included remarks from senior naval and air force officials. Rear Admiral Shifaat Ali Khan said Pakistan Navy maintained complete operational readiness during the conflict and protected maritime routes successfully.

Air Vice Marshal Tariq Ghazi stated that Pakistan Air Force maintained a strong defensive posture throughout the confrontation. He claimed eight Indian aircraft, including Rafale jets, were shot down during Operation Bunyan-um-Marsoos.

Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry concluded by saying Pakistan remains alert and prepared for future threats while continuing efforts for peace and regional stability.
