DG ISPR Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry has rejected the claim that the Army Chief gave an interview to any journalist. Speaking with reporters, he clarified that the reference made by Sohail Warraich in his column was misleading. He explained that the incident was related to an event in Brussels where hundreds of people took photographs. According to the DG ISPR, there was no talk of PTI or any discussion about an apology at that gathering.
He stated that Sohail Warraich attempted to gain personal publicity through this claim, which he called an inappropriate and irresponsible act. The Army Spokesperson stressed that anyone who commits an unlawful act will have to face the law. He expressed regret that even a senior journalist had failed to show responsibility.
Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif reminded the media that the Army is a responsible institution. He further said that Pakistan is a nation capable of changing the destinies of the region. For that reason, Pakistan faces repeated attacks. The Military Spokesman urged the youth to understand the heritage of the ideological state and recognize their own strength. He remarked that once the young generation realizes its power, no extremist or proxy will be able to threaten them.
The DG ISPR referred to the conquest of Makkah. Quoting the Last Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (SAW), he said: “Truth has come, and falsehood has perished. Indeed, falsehood is bound to perish.” He explained that the Holy Prophet (PBUH) achieved the conquest after enduring immense hardships, and those struggles serve as guidance for our journey.
Speaking about defense, Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif said that Pakistan’s defense budget is Rs80 billion. Despite this limited budget, Pakistan stands as a nuclear power. In contrast, a country like Iran has spent much more but has not been able to achieve nuclear capability.
The DG ISPR also pointed out that propaganda was used to weaken the morale of Pakistan’s youth. They were fed the narrative that Pakistan is a failed nation, while India was promoted globally as a “shining state” and “Vishwaguru.” According to him, such propaganda was meant to push children and the next generation into despair.
