ISLAMABAD: The DG ISPR, Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, has said that the people of Pakistan and their military have always stood together. He declared that this bond of unity will never break, no matter the circumstances.
Speaking to university students from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the DG ISPR made strong remarks about the nation’s collective strength. Referring to the recent conflict with India, he said, “They thought we would stay silent. But you all stood behind your country like a wall of iron.”
His comments came after the Pahalgam incident, where 26 people were killed in a brutal attack on tourists in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) on April 22. India instantly blamed Pakistan, despite offering no proof. Islamabad denied the accusation.
What followed was a series of small-scale border attacks by India. It didn’t stop there. Indian forces launched missile strikes inside Pakistani territory, trying to provoke a full-scale conflict.
The DG ISPR stated that India’s strategy, designed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, was met with a fitting and calculated reply. He said that every step India took was countered and defeated by Pakistan’s military leadership.
Lieutenant General Chaudhry shared details of Pakistan’s powerful response. After the attacks on May 6 and 7, Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, ordered retaliation. The response included strikes on 26 Indian military locations.
He revealed the operation’s name: Bunyan-um-Marsoos. On May 10, Pakistani forces carried out a large-scale military operation. Multiple Indian military sites were targeted. The war, sparked by India, ended after 87 hours. A ceasefire was later arranged through U.S. mediation.
The DG ISPR also revealed a key strike by Pakistani forces. The Indian brigade headquarters behind the attack that killed 7-year-old Irtaza in AJK’s Muzaffarabad was destroyed. Airbases used by Indian aircraft on May 6 and 7 were also reduced to rubble.
He made one thing very clear. The Pakistan Army did not attack any civilian areas. No civilian buildings or populations were harmed. “Your army followed all international rules,” he told the students.
“We are a peaceful nation,” the DG ISPR said firmly. But he warned India that any future aggression would be met with even greater force. “If they repeat this foolishness, our response will be harsher.”
Commenting on terrorism, the DG ISPR pointed fingers at India once again. He said India is deeply involved in creating chaos in the region, including inside Pakistan.
He condemned attacks on mosques and innocent people. “Such criminals do not represent Islam. They do not reflect Pashtun traditions or the culture of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.” He added that these terrorists are backed and funded by India.
He also exposed a militant named Khargi Noorwali. “He claims Shariah allows support from non-believers,” the DG said. “But in Islam, truth and falsehood cannot be mixed.”
He slammed the hypocrisy of seeking help from India. “India is a country where Kashmiri girls are stripped of their dignity,” he said.
On Afghanistan, the DG ISPR spoke with care. He said the Afghan people are brothers to Pakistan. The problem, he clarified, lies with certain Afghan elites. These individuals take Indian money and then act against Pakistan.
He urged Afghan authorities not to give shelter to terrorists. “Don’t allow your land to be used against us,” he appealed.
