Security forces have killed three terrorists in an intelligence-based operation in Dera Ismail Khan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, security sources said. The DI Khan operation was launched after intelligence reports pointed to militants operating in the area.
Fitna al-Khawarij Members Targeted
The sources said the slain men belonged to Fitna al-Khawarij. They described the operation as part of the continuing push against militant activity in the province under the Azm-e-Istehkam vision.
According to the sources, such security operations have helped disrupt militant networks across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. They added that security forces remain committed to clearing the province of terrorism and that action against militants will go on.
Earlier Operation in Dera Ismail Khan
The latest action follows another intelligence-based operation in the same district. Security sources said on Sunday that forces had killed eight terrorists in that earlier operation, whom they described as India-sponsored.
The sources said that operation was also launched on intelligence about militant presence in the area. All eight were identified as members of Fitna al-Khawarij, and three of them were key commanders.
Together, the two operations in Dera Ismail Khan have left 11 militants dead, according to the figures provided by the sources.
