ISLAMABAD – Security officials in Pakistan have strongly denied rumors suggesting that Pakistan supplied ballistic missiles to Iran. They described the reports as fake, misleading, and part of an orchestrated propaganda campaign. The false claims were mainly circulated by Indian media and its partner outlets abroad.
The misinformation spread quickly across social media platforms. A fabricated statement, paired with images of Pakistan and Iran’s flags, claimed that Pakistan had stepped into the Israel-Iran conflict. It falsely stated that Pakistan had delivered a “nuclear response” to support Tehran.
Diplomatic sources confirmed the statement was fake. They stressed that Pakistan had made no such declaration and had not supported Iran with any missile systems. The idea that Pakistani forces had joined the war effort was also dismissed as entirely baseless.
This disinformation comes during a tense moment. Israel and Iran exchanged fresh airstrikes overnight on Sunday. U.S. President Joe Biden called for de-escalation but warned Iran against targeting American assets.
Israeli authorities reported civilian casualties in the latest attacks. At least seven people, including children, were killed in strikes that damaged residential buildings. Rescue teams used dogs and torches to search through debris for survivors.
Meanwhile, Iran’s health ministry released grim statistics. According to Iranian outlet Etemad Daily, at least 128 people were killed in Israeli assaults on Friday and Saturday. The toll includes 40 women and a large number of children. Around 900 people were reportedly injured and taken to hospitals.
The broader situation between Israel and Iran continues to escalate. Tehran has walked away from nuclear talks, which Washington had seen as the only path toward peace. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu warned that Iran would face even stronger attacks in the coming days.
Despite these developments, Pakistan Iran relations remain a focus of global speculation. Pakistani officials continue to clarify their neutral stance, insisting they have no military role in the current regional conflict. They view such rumors as harmful attempts to distort Pakistan’s foreign policy.
