LAHORE: Disappointed cricketer Ahmad Shahzad has announced to quit the Pakistan Super League (PSL) due to consistent neglect in the recent raft of players.
The drafts for the ninth edition of the PSL took place in Lahore two days ago, during which teams selected players for their rosters. Unfortunately, Ahmad Shehzad did not find a place in any team.
Expressing his feelings on social media, Ahmad penned a heartfelt note, expressing his surprise at having to write a similar note again this year. Despite his hard work in domestic cricket and a commendable performance in the national T20 prior to the PSL draft, he found himself overlooked.
In his note, Ahmad acknowledged that Allah’s plans supersede human intentions. Despite his efforts, he felt a deliberate attempt to exclude him from the league, favoring those with lesser accomplishments. Frustrated by this perceived bias, Ahmad announced his decision to quit PSL for the sake of his self-respect. He vowed not to participate in the league again with the existing six teams.
