Djokovic Creates History, Becomes First Player to Win 400 Grand Slam Matches

Djokovic Makes History with 400 Grand Slam Match Wins

Melbourne: Serbian tennis star Novak Djokovic created history on Saturday by becoming the first player in the world to win 400 Grand Slam matches.

Djokovic achieved the milestone during the Australian Open 2026, further cementing his status as one of the greatest players in tennis history.

The world number one defeated his Dutch opponent in straight sets 6-3, 6-4, 7-6 (7-4) to book his place in the Round of 16 at Melbourne Park.

With this victory, Djokovic reached the unprecedented mark of 400 wins in Grand Slam tournaments, a feat no other player has achieved.

In the list of players with the most Grand Slam match wins, Roger Federer is second with 369 victories, while Spain’s Rafael Nadal ranks third with 314 wins.

Speaking after the match, Djokovic said he was feeling very good and described it as a strong start to the tournament.

“It’s a great beginning, but things can change quickly. I’m not getting overconfident because I learned an important lesson last year,” he said.

Djokovic added that he is still pushing himself to compete strongly against the younger generation of players.
