Doctors in KTH go on strike as health minister, guard torture assistant professor

PESHAWAR: Provincial Health Minister Dr Hisham Khan and his guard tortured an assistant professor of Khyber Teaching Hospital during a meeting of the hospital board of governor.
According to reports, assistant professor Dr Ziauddin and health minister exchanged harsh words during a meeting of the Khyber Teaching Hospital Board. According to reports, the guard of the health minister started beating the assistant professor, who was also joined by the minister. The assistant professor was severely beaten, who was admitted to emergency ward of the hospital after sustaining injuries.
According to some reports, the doctor had hurled egg at Dr. Nausherwan Khan Burki, cousin of Prime Minister Imran Khan, which resulted in the clash.
The doctors of the hospital strongly protested against the incident and went on strike.
Meanwhile  the chief minister has taken notice of the incident and ordered inquiry.
According to reports,the hospital administration also imposed ban on entry of Dr Ziauddin Afridi.
