Dostum slams Taliban government and warns that Afghanistan is heading toward deeper crisis if the current policies continue. The former Afghan vice president said the Taliban know how to fight but lack the skills needed to run a country or build a stable economy.
Speaking in a recent interview, Abdul Rashid Dostum expressed serious concern about Afghanistan’s future. He said the Taliban never learned political strategy or economic planning, which are essential for governing a nation. According to him, their only strength lies in fighting battles and then disappearing, a pattern that has pushed the country into uncertainty.
Dostum, an influential Uzbek Afghan leader who served as vice president during the administration of former president Ashraf Ghani, has repeatedly criticized the Taliban since they took control of Afghanistan in 2021. In his latest remarks, Dostum slams Taliban government for failing to address the country’s economic collapse and growing political isolation.
He said Afghanistan has gradually lost its importance in the international community. In his view, the Taliban leadership lacks the experience required to manage state institutions, revive the economy, or restore diplomatic ties with the world. If the current direction continues, he warned, Afghanistan could face even more serious challenges.
Dostum slams Taliban government over what he describes as poor governance and lack of vision. He believes the country is paying the price for policies that have pushed Afghanistan further away from global engagement. The result, he said, is rising poverty, unemployment, and growing humanitarian needs.
International organizations have already raised concerns about the worsening situation in the country. Millions of Afghans now depend on humanitarian assistance, while restrictions on women’s education and employment have drawn strong criticism from many countries and global institutions.
According to political observers, voices like Dostum’s could strengthen opposition to the current Taliban leadership. The former vice president, who is currently living in exile in Turkey, previously led resistance efforts against the Taliban in the past.
Dostum slams Taliban government while urging major political and economic reforms to prevent further decline. He stressed that Afghanistan’s survival depends on inclusive political solutions and a clear economic recovery plan.
So far, the Taliban have not issued any response to Dostum’s latest comments. However, his statement has once again sparked debate about Afghanistan’s future and the direction the country may take in the coming years.
