A major controversy has erupted as senior officials of the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) have been accused of taking bribes worth millions in the Ducky Bhai case. The complaint, filed by Aroob Jatoi, wife of popular YouTuber Saad ur Rehman, known as Ducky Bhai, has revealed serious allegations of corruption and misuse of authority by multiple officers.
According to the FIR, the investigation officer allegedly received Rs 6 million through a frontman to grant relief to Ducky Bhai, a payment reportedly made by the YouTuber’s friend Usman. The documents also reveal that another Rs 3 million was demanded later for influencing judicial proceedings. Of the total bribe money, Rs 5 million was placed with a car showroom owner, Rs 2 million were kept by the officer himself, and Rs 0.5 million were given to the Additional Director.
The case has been registered against nine officials of the cybercrime agency, with six of them reportedly missing for several days. The court proceedings in Lahore saw the defense lawyer of the arrested officers filing a petition before the judicial magistrate, claiming that his clients were being detained unlawfully without access to their families or a copy of the FIR. The petition argued that this detention violated Article 10A of the Constitution of Pakistan, the Police Rules 1934, the Police Order 2002, and the relevant SOPs.
The lawyer further stated that, according to law, arrested individuals must be presented before a court within 24 hours, which did not happen, violating Section 167 of the Criminal Procedure Code 1898 and Articles 10 and 10A of the Constitution. The court was requested to order the FIA Anti-Corruption Circle Lahore’s Deputy Director and Director to immediately produce the officers in court to ensure a fair trial.
Sources confirm that Deputy Director Chaudhry Sarfraz was recently removed from his post and directed to report to Islamabad headquarters due to ongoing controversies. Later, he applied for a six-month leave. His name had earlier surfaced in multiple disputes involving YouTubers and influencers, including Ducky Bhai, in cases linked to online trading and gambling apps. Other controversies reportedly involved confrontations between lawyers, journalists, and police officers.
Authorities suspect that the disappearance of certain officers is linked to ongoing investigations involving social media influencers and financial crimes. Meanwhile, the Islamabad High Court recently ordered the police to locate missing Deputy Director Muhammad Usman within a week after his wife, Rozina Usman, claimed that he was abducted on October 14 by armed men. The court was informed that Rozina herself went missing while pursuing the case, prompting the bench to demand an updated report from the police.
