ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan has adjourned hearing of case against Chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan regarding code of conduct violation till December 18.
The hearing has been adjourned awaiting the Islamabad High Court’s (IHC) decision in the similar case as Khan’s counsel Babar Awan informed the Commission that they had challenged the ECP’s code of conduct in IHC.
Awan argued before the ECP bench that the IHC will take up the case on December 15.
The Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Justice (Retd) Sardar Muhammad Raza Khan expressed annoyance at the argument stating that they (ECP) could not run around dates and adjournments.
However, the hearing was then adjourned.
A four-member bench of the ECP headed by Chief Election Commissioner Justice (Retd) Sardar Muhammad Raza Khan heard the case.
