ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has dismissed a petition urging the removal of Fawad Hassan Fawad from his position as the caretaker federal minister.
Advocate Syed Azizuddin Kakakhel, the petitioner, argued that Fawad’s political affiliations could sway the results of the 2024 general elections. However, the ECP countered this claim by highlighting Fawad’s role as the minister for privatization, questioning how this position could influence the upcoming February 8 elections.
The ECP deemed the petition lacking in merit and suggested it may be motivated by personal vendetta.
