ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) Wednesday took a significant step towards upcoming elections by unveiling the provisional report detailing the delimitations, which is based on the recently concluded digital census.
In an official press release issued by the ECP, it was announced that the preliminary report and constituency maps are now accessible on the ECP’s official website.
The ECP emphasized that the publication of these preliminary constituencies will remain available for public scrutiny for a period of 30 days, concluding on October 26. During this time, constituents are encouraged to voice any objections they may have regarding the delimitation process.
Furthermore, the ECP clarified that objections must be raised by individuals residing within the concerned constituency and explicitly stated that objections submitted via courier, post, or fax will not be considered.
The ECP has scheduled a timeframe for addressing these objections, which will take place from October 28 to November 26, as outlined in the press release. Additionally, it was noted that district maps can be obtained from the ECP for a nominal fee.
According to the list, the general seats for the National Assembly stand at 266, Punjab Assembly at 297, Sindh Assembly at 130, Balochistan Assembly at 51, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly at 115. These delimitations have been carried out accordingly.
