In a significant development, the Sindh High Court Tribunal has taken decisive action by reinstating the nomination papers of Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) vice chairman and former foreign minister, along with Zain Qureshi from NA-214 (Tharparkar).
This move follows the initial rejection of the nomination forms for Shah Mehmood Qureshi and Zain Qureshi by the Returning Officer (RO). The Sindh High Court Tribunal’s ruling overturns the RO’s decision, opening the door for the restoration of the nomination papers.
This development holds crucial implications for the political landscape, offering a renewed opportunity for Shah Mehmood Qureshi and Zain Qureshi to participate in the upcoming electoral proceedings. Shah Mehmood Qureshi’s nomination was rejected from NA 151 (Multan) and NA 214 (Tharparkar).
The rejection, citing the absence of a No Dues Certificate in the nomination papers, prompted the Sindh High Court Tribunal’s intervention, ensuring a fair consideration of the PTI leaders’ candidacy. This decision allows Shah Mehmood Qureshi and Zain Qureshi to re-enter the political fray and vie for their respective seats in the upcoming elections.
