Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Qazi Faez Isa emphasized the citizens’ right to dissent with the judiciary during a speech at the launch of the Federal Judicial Academy’s e-campus in Islamabad.
He mentioned his realization of being the chairman of the academy upon becoming the chief justice and encouraged sharing experiences among subordinate judiciary officers.
CJP Isa applauded the use of technology in the judiciary, particularly the live broadcast of court proceedings, which he believed offered learning opportunities for judges and legal students. While acknowledging the trend of cases directly reaching the Supreme Court, he advocated discouraging fabricated cases and imposing penalties on those responsible.
Despite recognizing the educational benefits of live broadcasts, he humorously noted the downside of feedback from home, where his wife critiqued his posture during hearings. Emphasizing technology as a valuable tool, he likened it to the pen mentioned in the holy Quran.
