Fake accounts case: SC orders NBP to file case against Omni group

KARACHI: The Supreme Court of Pakistan’s (SC) Karachi on Wednesday has directed the National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) to file a case against Chairman of Omni Group Anwar Majeed.
The Supreme Court resumed the hearing today and the Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) said that Omni Group mills will not be shut down, rather its administration will be handed over to some other entity.
Advocate National Bank Naeem Bukhari told the court that Omni Group had pledged over 250000 bags of sugar with the bank but bags were transposed which is a crime.
CJP told bank to lodge a case against Omni Group if it (Bank) is not ready to make a settlement with the group in question.
