Pakistan opener Fakhar Zaman has clarified the reason behind his absence from the ODI series against Bangladesh national cricket team, stating that he was not fully fit to participate.
Earlier, Fakhar was not included in the squad for the Bangladesh ODI series, which led to speculation among fans and analysts. However, the left-handed batter has now confirmed that fitness concerns kept him out of the matches.
Meanwhile, Pakistan national cricket team suffered a 2-1 series defeat against Bangladesh. The team’s overall performance remained below expectations, raising concerns ahead of upcoming fixtures.
In addition, Pakistan handed ODI debuts to four new players during the series, indicating a phase of experimentation and transition within the squad.
Speaking about his fitness, Fakhar Zaman said he was not “100 percent fit” for One Day Internationals at the time. He also supported the decision taken by head coach Aaqib Javed, calling it the right call.
Furthermore, the batter revealed that he only returned to competitive cricket after passing a fitness test on March 15, which allowed him to participate in the National T20 Cup.
